Are you a latte lover who dreams of recreating that creamy, caffeinated delight in the comfort of your own kitchen? Well, you're in luck! Making a delicious latte at home is simpler than you might think. With just a few key ingredients and a bit of practice, you'll be sipping on a professionally crafted latte without ever having to leave your house.
To begin your latte-making adventure, you'll need freshly brewed espresso or strongly brewed coffee (if you don't have an espresso machine), frothed milk, and a dash of creativity. Start by brewing a double shot of espresso (we prefer to use Expedition Espresso, but any of our dark roasts would be excellent) or making a strong cup of coffee using your preferred method. While your espresso is brewing, froth your milk using a milk frother or steaming it in your expresso machine.
Next, pour your espresso or coffee into a mug, filling it about halfway. Then, gently pour the frothed or steamed milk over the espresso. Top it off with latte art if you are up to the challenge.
Voila! You've just made yourself a delicious latte right in your own kitchen. Feel free to get creative by adding flavored syrups, spices, or whipped cream to customize your latte to your liking. Step 1: Brew and Pour the Espresso
Brew two shots of espresso (about 2 ounces) using an espresso machine. Pour into a cup or mug. For an extra-hot latte, start by filling your mug with boiling water, then pour it out right before adding the espresso.
Step 2: Froth or steam the Milk
Froth about a 1/2 cup milk or fill your steaming pitcher to the bottom of the handle. You want a silking texture; not a lot of foam or bubbles.
Step 3: Pour the Milk
Pour the steamed or frothed milk over the espresso
Step 4: If you’re feeling fancy, you can use the foam to create latte art.
